Added table previews (including virtual cockpit versions for appropriate cars) . All positions are correct, just need to find a font that will match that of FIS-Control.

Hi Stefan,
glad you like it smile

Hello everyone!

Having some spare time around Christmas I decided to develop a web app that would address my biggest gripe with FIS-Control - difficulty to design and test gauge configs.

I present to you: FIS-Designer!

https://i.imgur.com/gmIAJWC.png

Main features:

  • Accurate preview of the analog gauges.

  • Preview of the tables (accurate positions, different font)

  • Full support for loading and saving of FIS-Control binary files (binary format discussed with Stefan, so it should be fully compatible).

  • Support for loading and saving of full configs (settings + images) in local storage or as JSON files.

  • Ability to load only the visual part of a config from JSON, leaving your settings intact.

  • Bulk image uploader - if you don't like clicking the "upload" button wink

  • Mobile friendly (mostly).

Features on the TODO list:

  • Digital gauges preview.

  • Better font for tables.

  • Needle indicator preview.

The tool is available at http://fis-designer.xyz, hope you find it useful!

PS
I've spent a lot of time implementing every feature I thought could be useful and making sure everything works. However, there are sure to be bugs! If you find one, please report in this thread. Thanks!

PPS
Hopefully this tool will allow easier sharing of designs. Please find one attached.

It is probably showing you the atmospheric pressure, which is something you need to subtract to get the boost only.

From FIS control manual: "The column Boost pressure allows to show the boost pressure as gauge pressure instead of absolute pressure. This is done by subtracting the current ambient pressure from the absolute pressure reading. To make this work, you have to have the parameters for absolute pressure and ambient air pressure on the same table. Also you have to indicate, which row in the table is which pressure. If the control unit outputs the two parameters with different units, you have to convert the unit for the ambient pressure to match the unit of the absolute pressure that comes from the control unit."

Hallo Stefan,

Stefan, thanks for the new feature of displaying numbers in the gauge view! That opens a lot of new possibilities.

Here is my attempt at creating a theme with just one gauge and info table. Photoshop files included. Hope you all like it!

I understand. FIS-control is already a great tool and you are just one person. Too bad we cannot help you.

Hi Stefan,
I have one more question/request: is there any technical reason why fis-control can only display three gauges? I find myself constantly switching to table view to be able to see all the values I'm interested in.

Please also add "m/s2" to "g" conversion, and vice versa. Or maybe just allow an arbitrary value?

I am continuing this thread as the topic seems open enough.

Stefan, I see that you have added some options to show relative boost pressure. What is the proper way to use them? I can't seem to find any info on that.

Unit conversion is another great addition. Could you please also add a multiplier for "kg/h" to "g/s" conversion?

Hi,
wanted to share my theme. You will find Photoshop files inside if you want to modify it.
Download here: https://mega.nz/#!TahhAYpY!gojmmKzD0Yh6 … 1Nkw6dlQpA

I also have a couple of questions:
1) Is there already any gallery of the themes? If there is not, maybe this thread can start it.
2) How can you make a theme like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBiRNpRR_2Q

That was it, with 8 values it works fine. Thanks!

Hi Stefan,
I just bought the FIS Control MMI and installed it in the car without any issues. I have uploaded the newest firmware and all the other files. I have prepared and uploaded a configuration file, but there seems to be an issue:

*display shows no values at all*. The gauges have no needles, the list shows no values at all (just labels and units).
The clock is displayed on the status bar, so I think the device is properly connected.

Do I assume correctly that this is because of my ECM not being supported?

I have chosen:   EV_ECM20TFS0118K5907115_001010
But my car has: EV_ECM20TFS0118K5907115_001007 (the only difference are the last two digits in the ODX version)

Could this be the case? Please advise.
