Gps Mouse with RS232 in the FisControl.........for what?????

Re: Gps mouse

There are two reasons:
1. To know the vehicle speed with GPS precision.
2. The FIS-Control is able to log all parameters with a timestamp. If a GPS mouse is connected, it also logs the GPS position. So when you analyze your log files on a PC, you are able to visualize the route. For example in Google Earth.

Re: Gps mouse

I guess you can use normal GPS as well?
I have a Garmin GPS Map 76 with 3 wire COM

What string is the FIS Control expecting?

$GPGGA & $GPZDA at 1 Hz

Re: Gps mouse

Yes, you can use any GPS mouse that has a serial interface and outputs NMEA sentences in ASCII format.
The FIS-Control expects $GPRMC and $GPGGA.
The update rate may be higher tham 1 Hz. I successfully used a 10 Hz receiver.
There is a German thread about it:
