Topic: serial connection on unit

i can not see anywhere a picture about what sort off connection the serial port has to be

i want to add a extension cable from the Fis Control unit to somewhere in my car for easy accessing

is it a male or female connection on the unit ?

The FIS-Control has a female Sub-D socket.
