You always have my attention ;-)

About the Autowatch Ghost: I don't know that system, but from their website it does "Immobilisation by communicating with the ECU". I assume that means that they open a diagnostic session to the ECU.
The FIS-Control is programmed to detect other diagnostic devices (like VCDS or the diagnostic tester of the workshop) and will disable itself to prevent conflicts. But if a device is installed that permanently opens diag sessions, the FIS-Control will stay permanently disabled.

Hm, maybe it's a voltage drop that restarts the FIS-Control.
I could add an uptime counter to the FIS-Control. So you could have a look at it, next time the problem occurs.
If the counter was started again, then you know that the FIS-Control did a restart.

Yes, that is right. Maybe the roller generates an unintentional click from time to time.
If you want, you can disable the "Roller" feature and check if the unwanted switch is seen again.

Hi,

thanks for the very detailed description.

My assumption is, that the engine might have dropped the OBD connection during start/stop.
The FIS-Control normally should detect that and should try to reconnect. Maybe this is not working properly.

From your oberservation it is clear, that the FIS-Control didn't hang, as it responded to the steering wheel buttons.

I will investigate.

About your second obersavtion with the FIS-Control changing back to the satnav map... no idea why this happens. Do you have the "Show and hide the FIS-Control with the roller of the multifunction steering wheel" option enabled?

Stefan

Hi, great theme. Very nice.
Another user also posted his design here: https://fis-control.de/punBB/viewtopic. … 3445#p3445
Until now, there is no gallery. Maybe I will install a topic for that in this forum.

The Back To The Future theme is already prepared in the current firmware. One thing I have to solve is the mapping of the measurement values. If I find some time, I will do some last work on that design and enable it for all in one of the next firmware versions.

Maybe your ECU only supports to read 8 values at once. Please change the number of used formulas from 10 to 8 and try again.

Du kannst das also so machen.

Ja, kann ich so einbauen. Sag mir bitte bescheid, welchen Ladedrucksensor du dann verbauen willst.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

1) The FIS-Control shows the notification like they are shown on the phone. The could be some reasons, why a notification is just shown for a very short time.
2) Yes, that is how I designed it.
3) Correct. I don't want to do complicated stuff, just inform the driver that a new message arrived.
4) At the moment this is normal behavior. I see the same here at my side. This "summary" of received messages is actually done by Android. But I might find a way to work around this.
5) No, the FIS-Control can't generate a sound. But your phone should be able to do that ;-)

Current plan is to start the next batch in October, so that it will get available in November.

Thanks.
A guy from the rs-quattro forum organizes a group buy from time to time. I just sent him an email and asked about the current status for a new batch.
I will inform here about his answer.

Yes, I can also make Outlook and SMS working.
I just need to know the package name of their notifications.
You can sse them if you open the FIS-Control notification app manually and press "start service". Now you will see an info about every received notification in the text field of the app. This info includes the package name.
Just tell me that names and I will include them into the app. Add the moment I just show packages that include "whatsapp" and "email" in their package name.

Oh, now I see that this a little confusing. I renamed the "MMI: Send settings" to "Send settings" because it also works for the older FIS-Controls, so it can be used for the FIS-Control MMI and also for the FIS-Control 2.2 and FIS-Control light.

Please ignore the "MMI: Send notification" option in the uploader app. This is completely replaced by the new notification app.

Do the following:
- Turn of the ignition and close all FIS-Control apps
- Turn on the ignition
- Manually start the notification app and click "start service"
-> Now you should see the notification icon on the FIS-Control status bar
-> Now the FIS-Control should show WhatsApp notifications

If this works, you don't need to start the notification app manually, as it will be automatically start when the Audi headunit connects to the phone for hands-free.
