Deleting the fw seem to have solved all issues with moving it to the new car.
I'm running on the untested FW you sent to me earlier.

Everything seem to work as intended also my usermod, thank you very much big_smile

I will play around with it for a couple of days and also see if my fuel warning comes back, then I will revert with any feedback on the untested FW.

Again thank for awesome support

Hi Again, i'm sorry for the delay. Work takes up a lot of spare time smile

I have check the plugs and wires and they seem fine.
I have noticed another funny thing, i'm not getting a low fuel warning in the display anymore. Not sure if this is related.

I'm also unsuccessful trying to upgrade fw via the Android app.
I can read current fw but the fw upgrade just freeze when selecting the file.

Regards Michael

If the FIS-Control can't even connect to control unit 17, please check the cable connection to socket B of the FIS-Control.

By the way, here is the pinout of the FIS-Control: https://fis-control.de/files/kabel.pdf
As you can see, the K-line is on pin B1.

I will do that tomorrow and revert, thanks for your quick replies.

Is VCDS able to connect to your ECU?

Is the FIS-Control able to connect to the cluster (control unit 17)?

Is VCDS or something else still plugged to the OBD port?

- VCDS is working fine with both ECU 01 and 17 Cluster no fault codes

- No, FIS-Control is NOT able to connect to the cluster (control unit 17)

- OBD is unplugged when testing yes.

Hi Stefan

I have moved my FIS-Control 2.x, Engine and ECU to different car

Car: Golf 4 1999.5
Cluster: Full FIS IMMO 3, Post 2001

FIS FW 2015

1. I reset to factory default
2. Im able to see the FIS-Control menu and control it
3. Im able to connect the App via BT (I have set FIS to 3 wire and Cluster to CAN Telemetric)
4. Cluster coded with +16000
5. GateWay updated

But FIS control is not able to connect to any modules like 01 - ECU/Engine

Do you have an idea what has gone wrong for me?

I have also sent a different request on your email.

Thanks in advance
Michael Buch

Thats unfortuely my problem, i do not have VCDS available.

Im using normal VCDS but when looking in the manual the FIS Control should work as interface for VCDS light software you just need to download http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/download/
Connect to Serial or Bluetooth via the FIS Control

I had the same issue and I ended up just going through all the groups with VCDS/VCDS Light and writing it down manually.
Then I used the configurator and uploaded the file to the FIS Control

Took the car for a drive and made some fine tuning on scales and upper /lower limit and when I was happy I downloaded the file from the FID Control as a backup

In all my presets I only read 01-Engine but if you want to read something else in your setup I suggest you put them in order like this:
1: Engine 01
2: Engine 01
3: Engine 01
4: Engine 01
5: Other 03
6: Other 03
7: Other 03
8: Other 17
9: Other 17

If you mix them FIS Control will have to disconnect first and then connect to new CU when you change between presets so keeping the same CU next to it self will give you a better experience when browsing your presets

Maybe make a 2nd changeable menu under each map with value 0 to 9 (0 = no startlogo change)

Sets start logo upon selecting a map in ECU menu (no need to read ecu coding on start)

If start logo is manually changed later it overwrites the logo set by ECU map until changed again.

Again I hope it makes sense smile

Ahh I see, that makes sense.

You would think so, but I'm not 100% sure you can compare the partnumbers to figur out what softcoding are used.
But what about using custom menus so user can set coding them self?

New Changeable Menus (if set to 00000 = Not visible in menu below)
MAIN MENU --> SETTINGS --> ECU CODING --> STANDARD MAP --> 00002
--------------------------------------------------------> CUSTOM MAP1 --> 00100
--------------------------------------------------------> CUSTOM MAP2 --> 00140

New Selectable menu
MAIN MENU --> ECU MAP --> STANDARD MAP
----------------------------------> CUSTOM MAP1
----------------------------------> CUSTOM MAP2

I hope it makes sense.

Hi Stefan

Thanks for a fantastic product, it was just what my car needed smile
I just updated my firmware to 04-10-2015 and was looking for the Tuning MAP selector funktion.
I only found you wrote to "Press Up" in ECU Info in the FW release note, but it does not do anything?
I have 3 maps I normally select in Engine ECU Softcoding via VCDS
00140 - Optimized
00100 - Standard max 4500 rpm
00002 - 100% Standard

Can you share some light on this subject?

A cool feature for the future could be that it change startlogo depending on the map chosen smile

I guess you can use normal GPS as well?
I have a Garmin GPS Map 76 with 3 wire COM

What string is the FIS Control expecting?

$GPGGA & $GPZDA at 1 Hz
