Windows hides the file extensions be default. Look for a file named "ttermpro". That's the one you have to start.

"Invalid host" is an error message from TeraTerm. You have selected "TCP/IP". That is wrong. You have to select "Serial" and choose the COM port that is paired with the FIS-Control.

Do other features work that are also drawing pixel graphics? Like the snake game or the startlogo feature.

TeraTerm also work with newer Windows versions.
If you can tell me at which point you stuck, I will try to explain how to proceed from there. Else you should wait until I find time to do a video tutorial.

If you export your current settings and load them into the configurator, there is not much that you have to add there.
The labels can be set at "Labels for measurment values".
Every row is for one measurement value. So for example if you want to give the fourth value of the group 115 of your ECU the label "BOOST", you should set it like this:
[x], [01 - ENGINE], CAN [ ], Group [115], Value [4], Label [BOOST], Show unit [x]

If you still have Windows XP on your laptop, you can use the installed HyperTerminal to transfer the setting to/from the FIS-Control. If you have a newer Windows version, please download TeraTerm:

If you already did some configuation, I suggest to send the current settings to the laptop first:

FIS-Control: SETTINGS -> FLASH MEMORY -> SEND SETTINGS -> BLUETOOTH

Now you can pair your laptop with the FIS-Control. After that open the bluetooth settings on your laptop and look for the assigned COM port (outgoing connection).
Open a terminal tool like TeraTerm an open the COM port:

Laptop: File -> Transfer -> Xmodem -> Receive -> CRC

This will transfer the settings to your laptop.
You can open the settings file with the online configurator and edit the label fiels for the presets and the measurement values.
After you saved the new config file, you will have to send it to the FIS-Control:

FIS-Control: SETTINGS -> FLASH MEMORY -> LOAD SETTINGS -> BLUETOOTH
Laptop: File -> Transfer -> Xmodem -> Send -> CRC

- Codierung auf 3-Leiter-Bus:
Softcoding auf 16044
Anpassungskanal 62 auf "0"

- Codierung auf CAN:
Softcoding auf 00044

Yes, I think it will help to clear the settings.
But for me it would be interesting to know, what settings causes the problem.
Do you have a laptop with bluetooth? So you could transfer your current settings to the PC, before clearing the settings.

Die beiden Fehler sind normal... kannst du ignorieren.

Wegen Navi.. ändere mal die Codierung vom Tacho. Entweder von CAN auf 3LB oder 3LB auf CAN, je nachdem wie du es gerade codiert hast.

With the new firmware versions the FIS-Control tries to auto-detect in which car model it is installed and over which protocol it can communicate with the instrument cluster.

If the auto-detection does not work properly (like it seems to be the case in your car), you can manually set up the communcation channel.
I assume you have the current FIS-Control app installed on your Android phone?

Then please do the following:
1. Turn off the ignition
2. Press and hold the DOWN button on the side of the wiper control stalk (not the Reset button)
3. Turn on the ignition
4. Start the app on your phone and select the FIS-Control
5. Click on "Firmware version". This will open a drop down list.
6. Select "Channel: Telematics / 3LB" and press SEND.
7. You should see a reply in the text box below the send button.
8. Close the app und turn off the ignition

The auto-detection is disabled now and the FIS-Control will use the correct channel to speak to the cluster every time.

Die Option "ANDERE BALKEN" bezog sich auch zunächst auf die Balken vom Ladedruck-Balkendiagramm. Die machen bei manchen Tachos mit rotem FIS Probleme.
Dann kam bei manchen Farb-FIS-Tachos das Problem, dass die Markierungsbalken von den Menüs teilweise nicht die richtige Länge hatten (und dadurch bei manchen Einträgen Reste vom roten Auswahlbalken stehen geblieben sind). Und die störenden Linien/Balken beim Zeichnen von Pixelgrafiken. Daher hat "ANDERE BALKEN" jeweils eine andere Funkion, je nachdem welchen Tacho man hat. Der Name "BEHEBEN VON EVENTUELLEN DARSTELLUNGSPROBLEMEN" wäre also treffender... aber leider zu lang.

Die Startlogos quattro.logo und gecko.logo sollten mit der neuen Firmware auch sauber angezeigt werden. Kommt aber wohl noch drauf an, ob man sie im "Vollbild" oder "klein" anzeigt.
Für diesen ganzen Ärger mit den Darstellungsfehlern können wir uns vermutlich bei den Programmieren bei Bosch bedanken. Die haben da an einigen Stellen Blödsinn gemacht. Man könnte fast meinen, die wollten mir und dem FIS-Control das Leben schwer machen  ;-)

Neue Firmware und Update der Android-App.
Man kann nun über das Android Smartphone den Tacho passend für das FIS-Control codieren. Eine entsprechende Anleitung erstelle ich noch.
